  1. It's been nearly a year since your request. But I still like to share the idea of visiting Radial Tire in Silver Spring. For years I went there for new tires on my BMWs and have since used them for 2 other cars. The mention of Firestone or Sears here made my stomach curdle!!!
  2. Thanks for the recommendation. They look like an excellent independent. I've been looking for a good shop to add some handling upgrades to my '04. Still on the fence about whether to sell it, or go all out. So far just have a Borla, improved air filter and high perf tires. Have you had any aftermarket work done there?
  3. absolutely, the price charged for oil and checking over the car is high (in my opinion). I still usually go to the dealer, but wait for a sale on an oil change, at an average of 7,500 mi. No way I'd go much longer than that. Ya can't be too good to the inside of your power plant. When I go in i ask them to give the car a full check over and report. They are usually happy to do it n/c because it could easily result in more work, plus what does it take for a good tech to scope out a mini? Not a lot of time. I try to go under the car with the tech so he can point things out to me and I can make the decision. Sure, they'll have you do some work before necessary if they have their way. I like to tip the tech well and with the usual 'do I really need to do this work NOW?', I find it can wait. In any event, $265 for an oil service? each to his own.
  4. Yah, I found non run flats terrific. If ya need the peace of mind of run flats... that's fine. I made the switch to non run flats strictly for performance. The friendly folks at Radial Tire in Silver Spring recommended the TOYO Proxes, T1R and I love them. I put them on my S, as well as my german station wagon. Both drive like different cars. I still have yet to get them to squeal on off ramps at speed. They are reasonably priced and are sticky as all get out, quiet and smooth. Forget about going anywhere in snow though, but they are quite decent in rain. I've been getting good wear out of them and I've never had tires that held air pressure as well before. Hmmm I still haven't picked up a can of tire fix!
  5. I'm a little confused,,, so it's simply 4 rims for sale, right? no tires Thanks
