  1. Audrey -

We did the lazy bonnets up in the parking lot of the Microtel. There were 2 gen ones so we each raised our bonnets at dark and took the pics. It was fun even if we weren't on the dragon.

  2. I had a blast the whole time. Tigger got his first mod and the flames. After that long drive home I washed and did a quick wax with slick just to see him all pretty and free of the road grime.

I learned a ton about my car and love it even more now. I still smile every time I hear the new sound of the engine from my new pulley or when I see those flames!!! What to do next?

I drove the Dragon twice once before the pulley and once after, there was a difference for sure. I really noticed it going home on the big up hills, Tigger was keeping up much easier.

I uploaded a slew of pics

Thanks to Craig, Marty and Rick for leading us home. I've never done a caravan like that before. It was way better then driving alone. Can't wait for next year.

  3. Tali and I are working together to try and accomplish this. He's calling now to see if the parts are in stock, if they are, he's picking them up and bringing them to me in DC at my work.

I'll bring them with me and have them to Fontana by tomorrow

It's the MINI network at it's finest. I will let you know more after he calls and confirms that he has the part.

  4. Edge -

If MINI of Annapolis can transfer the bolts to Passport MINI I can get them and bring them with me. Passport is 3 miles from my house. We leave tomorrow night so I could get there right before 6:00

Let me know if that would work.

My cell is 703-201-6899 if you can get them to do the transfer.

  5. I actually looked into that option and besides the cost, you have to remove the whole dash which looked to be a challenge, given there are airbags etc. In my younger days I would have saved up, bought the dash and done it but I was a gear head then. Now I just want to glue this thing on top and be done with it.

I think the ones I found were around $600 to $800 but I can't remember now.

  6. Audrey had this dash in Scoopie and I love it

It's installed with double sided tape though and she's had some issues with getting it to stick properly, she has areas she's had to go back in and glue. My mirror covers and bonnet scoop both have a similar cover and I remember how difficult the double sided tape is to work with because you can't reposition it and it sticks too early.

I am thinking of ordering the dash and removing the tape then install using silicone glue. I suspect it should work better since it's goopy and dries softer then other glues. My thought is a hard glue would not hold up to the rattling in the MINI. I figure with clear silicone I can just shave off any that oozes out where I don't want it. I'm just wondering, anyone see any flaws in this idea? Would it hold up during the various temps? It's basically the same stuff in a clear caulk.

  7. I just checked my Droid which uses Google maps, It's sending me I- 81 to I-40 to TN 115/ 129 so to be safe I should print the directions and map info from the MOTD site. I do have the traffic option but don't know if it would re-route or not.

I just thought I'd check and see if it knew anything
