  1. I just had my windshield replaced...no issues to date. Also, if you are thinking about having a replacement performed at a dealer, inquire as to who does the work. You may find that companies like Satellite perform the replacement for the dealer at the dealer's premises!
  2. Over the weekend, Scott from one of our newest vendors (MINIDynamics) installed an oil catch can on my CLubby S. He did the job efficiently and, in addition, patiently explained the hows and why of oil catch cans in the turbo engine. I am very satisfied!
  3. Based on the comments from your mechanic, I would switch shops too! Changing the oil and brakes is not difficult. You just need to be patient!
  4. If I was a betting man, I think it is about time to consdier a new battery. I am interested in how hard/easy it is to change a battery out & reset the radio, etc. Thanks
  5. My experience/outcome with Cal Tint on my 2009 Clubby is not as good as reported in the other posts to this message. Over the past two years, I have noticed little bubble-like imperfections in every one of the side/rear windows tinted. Moon roof remaims solid. Sorry to report this but I wish I had gone to Laurel at the time. If you would like to see my car, please let me know.
  6. My R98's are still available. I live in Burke so I don't think we are very far from each other. Thanks
  7. Michael: I still have the web spokes. As I mentioned, they do have some road rash. If you would like to look at them, I live in Burke so it probably is not too far from where you live. Send me a message or call me at 703.455.9017 to set up a time to come out. Thanks John
  8. FS: a. 4 x 205 45/R17 Used OEM Continental Run Flats - Tread Depth equates to Lincoln's eyes when inserting a penny upside down. $120 b. 4 X R98 Webspokes (17") with some road rash - $150 for set c. 4 x TPMS wheel modules for 2010+ MINI (only 3700 miles of use) $45 each Interested individuals may contact me via a PM. I am technologically challenged but could upload some pictures to your email address if interested. Thank you
  9. Craig: Thank you for your insights. I just wanted to make sure before I take the plunge. I am looking for a way more comfortable ride and am considering both Bridgestone and Michelin brands...seems like I can get a good price at Costco. Any sense as to whether the TPMS used in the 2010 model wheels will work with the internal system in the 2009 model? I have a very good set of MINI 2010 wheels with TPMS and want to use them on my Clubby.
  10. I need some advice...will 205/55R16 all season tires fit on my 2009 Clubman or do I need 205/50R16 tires only? THanks in advance.
  11. Sorry, I did not put my info in my original message. I have CT 1521s, Stock numbers CT1309 and CT 1204. I assume yours are the same? Thanks
  12. Just curious...any reason for switching away from the Carbo Techs? Thanks
  13. Question related to this matter...is this an issue only with MINI Ss&JCWs or is it an issue with all turbos? I asked a similar question on NAM but have received no repsonses..., i.e. I wanted to know if this a technical/enginerring issue or a quality control issue at the factory or some of both? I'm interested in your comments. Thanks
  14. IMO, MINI's oil change intervals are too long. That said, I know there are at least 99000 views on this topic. As you own the car over time, you may want to consider having you oil analyzed by e.g Blackstone labs; by doing this you can make a better decision re: best interval for you using both quantitative and qualitative data. I change my own oil, (other than the oil change done by MINI as part of the maintenance service for the first few years of ownership). It is easy to do and fairly inexpensive. :top:
  15. I was away yesterday but, if you still need the tool, I have one and am willing to loan it to you. We could meet between Reston and Burke. Thanks
