Just rolling out of bed but I'll be there! Wonder if I can find a car wash close by?
Yeah, Cricket is gross. Stupid snow.

I'm not the only one going, am I?

I just had a call from MINI of Annapolis to let me know - so I could share with everyone - that they have three Countrymen at the dealership if you'd like to see one of them "up close and personal". I don't know about you guys but

Just for the record, I'm no more afraid of bears than anyone else is (or should be, anyway).
Ok, gummi bear fruitcake is terrifying, though.

Just wondering, but is this a member only thing or can ex members attend?
Depends... Who is it?
Seriously, everyone members or not, are welcome!

My rear window was a little cloudy yesterday morning, but by last night it was ok. I had a few bubbles on Friday and Saturday, but they're gone now.

In case anyone is wondering, these students came to the Meet and Greet at MINI of Sterling last week and were given permission to post this survey.

I had the tinting done today and went with 50% all around.
Thanks for all of the suggestions!!

I'll bring a covered dish. An empty, covered dish.
So, no R-rated white elephants?
No, only PG elephants, please! :elephant::elephant:

I've only had my winter tires on for a few days, so I can't comment on my gas mileage yet. However, my winter wheels are 5 pounds (each) heavier than my summer wheels. Cricket just feels heavier. I can imagine that extra 20 pounds will make some difference in my gas mileage.
Both my summer and winter tires are runflats, so they should weigh about the same.

Thanks for the replies!!
I hadn't even thought about having a hard time seeing out of it at night. I already don't see really well at night, so that's definitely something to keep in mind.
I think I'm leaning towards doing 50% all the way around.

I'll plan on taking the spot after Price, but I'll probably get there earlier.

Dan is correct. Laura, you had it backwards.
The percentage is the amount of light that is let through, not the amount blocked (100% = no tint, 0% = total block).
I'm not surprised I had it backwards. I thought it sounded off, but I figured I was just confused.

I like 35% all around. Looks great, and you can still see out. Not legal for VA, though. Max on front windows is 50%.

Do you have any issues with the police/getting pulled over due to the tint?

Yesterday morning, I was attempting to turn left onto Oronoco St, from Washington St in Old Town. While I was waiting, a BRG/W headed north waved!
Around 5:30 last night, I was headed West on King St and I passed a classic Mini, parked on the street, with Montana plates. I tried to take a picture, but traffic decided to move.
Also last night, on Duke St, PlayPlay waved at me. I didn't realized it was him, since he wasn't in his MINI. I thought it was just some guy who was trying to get me to let him in front of since the right lane was a turn only lane. Sorry for speeding up!

I want to get Cricket's windows tinted, but want to stay at least sort of legal.
I live in DC and their tint laws are pretty strict...
Front windows can be no more than 70% and rear no more than 50%... BUT, they no longer do vehicle safety inspections (only emissions). I've never heard of anyone getting pulled over in DC for illegal tint, so I'm not too worried about meeting their requirements.
Virginia law is no more than 35% in the front and 50% in the back
Maryland law is no more than 50% all the around.
What would you do?

The 26th works for me.

If anyone has the number for Carlos, he might make appointments and be very happy to have several cars show up! For the prices that I've seen mentioned, I'd be willing to have the entire car redone since I'm managed to scratch my tint in a couple of places.

If anyone is planning on going to see Carlos next week (26/27 November) I'll go along with you so Carlos know the MINI crowd appreciates his work. I'd like to put limo tint on my sunroof and maybe go darker on the rear side windows...
Tks!
I want to get Cricket tinted too, so I'd be up for going also.

FYI - the date on the waiver is wrong - today is the 7th not 8th. I caught it AFTER I printed and signed. Pen and ink change?
I think I uploaded it before I saved it. The 125 printed copies have the 7th! :biggrin

I've attached a copy of the liability waiver. If you have a chance, please print, sign and bring with you. It's not a problem if you don't, I will have PLENTY of copies on hand. Just a time saver if you have the chance. :top:

Since the weather has been so yucky, most of our MINIs are pretty nasty. It's still a little to cold to wash them at home, so how about a car wash meetup?
When: Tonight (Tuesday 12/28/10), 11:00pm
Where: Sunoco Station (the gas station is closed, but
