  1. Since the weather has been so yucky, most of our MINIs are pretty nasty. It's still a little to cold to wash them at home, so how about a car wash meetup?

    When: Tonight (Tuesday 12/28/10), 11:00pm

Where: Sunoco Station (the gas station is closed, but

  2. I've only had my winter tires on for a few days, so I can't comment on my gas mileage yet. However, my winter wheels are 5 pounds (each) heavier than my summer wheels. Cricket just feels heavier. I can imagine that extra 20 pounds will make some difference in my gas mileage.

Both my summer and winter tires are runflats, so they should weigh about the same.

  4. Yesterday morning, I was attempting to turn left onto Oronoco St, from Washington St in Old Town. While I was waiting, a BRG/W headed north waved!

Around 5:30 last night, I was headed West on King St and I passed a classic Mini, parked on the street, with Montana plates. I tried to take a picture, but traffic decided to move.

Also last night, on Duke St, PlayPlay waved at me. I didn't realized it was him, since he wasn't in his MINI. I thought it was just some guy who was trying to get me to let him in front of since the right lane was a turn only lane. Sorry for speeding up! ;)

  5. I want to get Cricket's windows tinted, but want to stay at least sort of legal.

I live in DC and their tint laws are pretty strict...

Front windows can be no more than 70% and rear no more than 50%... BUT, they no longer do vehicle safety inspections (only emissions). I've never heard of anyone getting pulled over in DC for illegal tint, so I'm not too worried about meeting their requirements.

Virginia law is no more than 35% in the front and 50% in the back

Maryland law is no more than 50% all the around.

    What would you do?

  6. Hi Everyone!

If you've RSVP'd "yes" or "maybe" you should have received this information in an email this morning, but just in case, I'm putting it here, too.

Where to go: We will be staging cars at Landmark Mall, near the Sears Auto Center.
