Ooh - Mountain Dew, please!Lunch will be very simple....sub sandwich kind of simple. I'll supply 2 kinds of soda...Coke and ? Mountain Dew? Ginger ale? Tell me. Maybe I'll even spring for cookies... -
Here you go - easy linkage:
Amazon.com - Show N Go License Plate Holder (manual) - $49.95
Amazon.com - Show N Go License Plate Holder (powered w/remote) - $149.95
BTW, only 4 of the powered ones left in stock as I type this.

I just ordered one via Amazon.com. That is just way too cool to ignore. I recently had the aero kit installed, and I bought a really nice tow hook mount for the license plate, so there are no holes in the bumper... but this solution is so much more elegant!
I wonder if we can get away with driving around with the plate retracted?
If we get pulled over, we can quickly hit the button to put it back out. Hehehe.

Bravo Mark - that is awesome! Bravo! I think you've just started a trend in the MINI community (saw your NAM post too).

I am so sorry that I didn't make it up there to MoS this morning. I really wanted to go, but believe me, I had an incredibly good reason not to show up. Probably the best reason ever given for missing a Meet N Greet. I don't want to go into it.

Umm... that (the 28th) going to conflict with the annual meeting. Bummer. I was looking forward to seeing tHas been moved to the following weekend. Breakfast still stands this weekend. We're looking forward to hosting you guys! -
Kurt - question regarding the MoS Nitrogen service... does it include "top-up" refills for the life of the tires?
Just curious. I think I saw that somewhere online (from a BMW dealership, I believe) when I did some browsing on this.
Obviously, part of the idea with Nitrogen is that there will be less leakage (as the molecules are larger... no smaller Oxygen molecules in the gas mix to leak out)... but eventually, over time, the tires will probably need a top-up. It would be nice to know I wouldn't have to pay another $69 to do it - at least until I get new tires again.

Jim,Yes I did.1) I have standard headlights.
2) I know when they are too low.
3) You have not seen my headlights.
If you don't want to answer the question then don't.
Jim
It was a friendly question. No need to be snappy. I wasn't trying to be smart-ass.
I hope someone here can help you, but a tech question like this will probably be easier to answer via NAM. You said you already searched there, but if you didn't find what you wanted, I suggest posting the same question (if you already haven't).

The exact same stuff, right? If so, sign me up!
No harm in adding regular air in later, I hope... since my wheels won't have the little green caps on them as a reminder they are filled with nitrogen.

Just curious - you did see this thread, didn't you?

The light pattern for the Xenons is deliberately different between the driver's side and passenger's side, from the factory.
The driver's side cuts off lower than the passenger's side. Why?
2 reasons:
1) So the driver's headlight doesn't blind oncoming traffic, nor cars directly in front of you (in their rear view mirror). After all, Xenons are exceedingly bright.
2) So the passenger's headlight can help illuminate road signs at greater distances.
While there may indeed have been a problem with your headlights, I have to express concern that you may have actually fixed a problem that wasn't there.
Of course, I didn't see it for myself, so I wouldn't really know, would I.

Personally I prefer clings to stickers, because you can apply them on the inside of the window, and easily remove and reapply them. Thanks for the info, getting my friend to make some stickers for the side window. -
Per the thread title & calendar entry: 9:30am.what time does the meet at MOS start?Hope you can make it! :top:

Did you end up using the wiring from the cabin light, up in the headliner? That's how my V1 is wired in... although I didn't do it myself (nor is it wired with just the regular V1 hardwiring kit - ever heard of the StealthOne?).If any one needs help doing this or some other stuff I could help you out. Just wired in my Valtentine 1 today and doing my laser jammers in the next week or two. Been aircraft mechanic for 5 years and beening doing car stereo for over 6 years on and off. Was kind of a pain in the arse until I found a good power source.I of course haven't posted about this on NAM, since it is a public forum... and RDs aren't exactly legal here in VA, are they.

Yep... pretty much. It's going to be modified again soon too.Sounds good, by the way edge what the hell does all that mean in your sig. Guessing car mods and can only figure out less than half of it.I'll be happy to break i

Hammerette and I are going. Currently the plan is to drive down on Tuesday. It's really nice getting there early and relaxing a little before the crowd arrives.

Awesome... if I don't get a good answer (for a small mod I want) from the "paint guy" that is associated with the dealer, I may ask you for your input on how feasible it is.Aircraft mechanic and also teach at a school for Airframe and Powerplant degree. I know how to do fiberglass, kelar. carbon fiber, painting, sheet metal. The school also lets me use there paint shop. It's just painting of a few interior bits...

Interesting - do you work in a body shop? Thanks man, going to paint them bady colour this week at work. Just need to get the paint. -
You should get one with your welcome package when it arrives.
-
Well - you'll justI really wanted to go to this since it'd be my first opportunity to meet a bunch of DCMMers, and had intended to, but I've got out of town friends coming in and they wouldn't be so keen to hang out at MoS. -
There most certainly will be at least a few DCMM caravans for MOTD (depending on when people want to go).
Ashley and I registered this afternoon, so we're going! :itsme:
-
Thanks again Bill for an excellent run. My only wish is that next time, I'll have Mr. OEM, so I can do it for myself! :ridinghorse:

WOW... OMG... a blast from the past. You'll be competing with Hammerette for the shortest one there, no doubt! :itsme:I'll be there... in the Miata.

Yes, our site is a hybrid of public and private forums... we still love to have visitors and are still very interested in inter-club events where feasible.
Our club calendar and events forums are visible to visitors though, so you can still see what we're "up to". :top:
