With these forums all you have to do is paste the full look to the video and it will auto embed it for you. For example: pasting https://youtu.be/lTo2Yrhrjdg Will automatically convert it to this: After you paste and it converts it, if you would rather it be a link there is a note that comes up at the bottom of the text field that you can click to turn it back into a link.

With the new forums instead of "subscribing" to a topic or forum its now "Following". It's the same thing just a different title. This option is visible while on desktop or tablet, when it is on mobile phone size it hides the option. It shows up in the same place for both forums and topics. When you click on this it will expand with some more options: If you click the Change how the notification is sent it will take you to the Notification Settings where you can change your defaults for how your receive notifications, by on site notifications in your notification center or through email. If at any point you change your mind about following something, or even just want to update the settings for the one particular item, all you have to do is click the Following button again to bring the options back up.

Why DC Metro MINIs? Here we love our MINIs as much as you love your MINI Here you will have a home where you can chat for hours about MINIs; we won’t get tired of it Here you will have a group of like minded people that want to go out and motor in their mighty MINIs Here you will have a team of fellow MINIiacs that can assist, advise and help out with maintenance, modifications and general questions about the workings of your MINI Why does the club charge yearly dues? DC Metro MINIs is incorporated as a non-profit We’re characterized as a club with the IRS, so we don’t accept charitable donations This makes a difference in any liability you may incur when you participate in club events. In the unlikely event that there is a situation that results in a lawsuit the club has insurance and the corporation protects the individual members from being named as directly liable. *You still need to comply with all state laws regarding the personal ownership and use of your vehicle. Also: We have expenses to maintain the website and it’s infrastructure. We host a yearly picnic where we pay for the burgers, dogs and veggie burgers Members can attend the annual meeting where we buy you a nice lunch We have miscellaneous expenses such as: Postage, and the occasional advertising on social media for major events like our fundraiser: MINIs Take The Beltway You guys are really organized, are you really that serious? We are a non-profit to help protect our members from personal liability issues. In order to maintain our non-profit status the federal government requires that we have a board of trustees with officers and bylaws. We also have a lot of other organizational structure that we must comply with. However, underneath all that we’re really a fun group that wants to just get out and motor! What kinds of events are there? Our events are member hosted, and we have some very creative members! Feel free to look through our events forum but our most common events are: Driving together where our destination is usually food!! Driving together on twisties so we can really enjoy our MINI's performance Driving together to an event, such as our annual meeting, annual picnic, track day etc What's a MINIac? If you own a MINI, love that MINI, maybe even named the MIN, and love to drive that MINI-You might be a MINIac If you feel the need to chat about your MINI, mods, other people’s MINIs-You might be a MINIac If you made a picture of your MINI your Facebook profile pic-You probably are a MINIac If you have dressed to match your MINI- Without a doubt, YOU ARE A MINIac I got a card on my MINI, what's that about? It’s a compliment from one of our club members. They like your MINI, they are hoping that you want to come out and motor with us, they’re letting you know about DC Metro MINIs and that we are here for you. Do we really wave to each other? Just wave! Eventually you’ll run into a MINIac and they'll wave back because they know that will make your day, and make their day too!

What are the state laws regarding car window tint?
DCMM replied to SneakyBaron's question in Frequently Asked Questions
State laws vary widely on the level of tint you can put on your car windows without receiving a "fix it" ticket. NOTE: The percentage shown reflects how much light is allowed through. 100% means no tint. 5% is limo tint. Here are the local area tint laws for cars: Washington DC (circa 2001) Link: 50-2207.02 Front Side Windows: 70% Rear Side Windows: 50% Rear Windshield: 50% Maryland (circa 1995) Link: 11.14.09.12 Front Side Windows: 35% Rear Side Windows: 35% Rear Windshield: 35% Virginia (circa 1999) Links: 46.2-1052 46.2-1053 Front Side Windows: 50% Rear Side Windows: 35% Rear Windshield: 35% Other useful Tint-related links International Window Film Association (IWFA) US State Window Tinting Rules and Laws (PDF) TintLaws.com -

until
We thought it might be fun to have our own RSVP list of who's going to MINIs on the Dragon 8 this year. This way we can all see who'll be there. A list might help in knowing who to coordinate with for any caravans, meet-ups, accommodations, or whatever other plans anyone has.

This is NOT a substitution for the actual MOTD 2010 Registration, you will still need to do that! This is strictly for DCMM members to get a better idea of what their fellow club members are doing.

So, as always, Happy Motoring!!! :motor:

DCMM was founded in 2003, by Mike and Donna Kacmarcik, Jonathan and Carolyn Miller, Mark and Debbie Vaughn, Mike Whitley and John DeCrema. We started out with a very small group of about 15 members. We used a Yahoo site as a communications base for the new club. The Tortilla Factory, in Herndon VA, became our clubhouse. The first really big gathering we had was at The Dragon in the spring of 2003 for The MINI Mountain Hop, where we joined other MINI lovers for an informal weekend of motoring fun. Needless to say, we attracted quite the crowd in rural Robbinsville NC, which had never seen a MINI, much less the 25 that were parked at the Microtel. Since then we have grown into a robust club with regular activities and an active forum. We're able to offer our members vendor discounts and we host a lot of fun events

Effective July 1, 2008 DC Metro MINIs is changing how the membership works. Currently the memberships run for one year, based on the month you sign up. Going forward, the memberships will be based on a calendar year, regardless of when you sign up. Everyone's memberships will start in January and expire at the end of December. It will take awhile for the transition to be complete, but once it is, it will be much easier to manage as the club grows. Memberships that are expiring between July 2008 and December 2008 will pay a prorated renewal fee and their memberships will be good through the end of December 2008. They will need to renew for January. Memberships that have been renewed January through June 2008 will be good through the expiration date on the badge. When that membership is up for renewal it will be prorated through December 2009. New members who sign up between July and December 2008 will be charged a flat fee of 60% of the usual fee. When your membership is up for renewal you will get an email with the details of the cost of renewal and how to renew. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at membership@dcmetrominis.org Below is a schedule of how the dues will be collected for the rest of the year and for our members who will renew in the first half of 2009. Renewals for Remainder of 2008 Single Membership July - $13 August - $10.83 September - $8.67 October - $6.50 November - $4.33 December - $2.17 Couples Membership July - $17.50 August - $14.58 September - $11.67 October - $8.75 November - $5.83 December - $2.92 2009 Renewals (only for those members who signed up/renewed Jan-June 2008, everyone else is due in January at the regular price) Single Membership January - $26 February - $23.83 March - $21.67 April - $19.50 May - $17.33 Couples Membership January - $35 February - $32.08 March - $29.17 April - $26.25 May - $23.33 Originally posted by Greencactus on NAM, 6-27-2008
