VTHokieJen Posted June 12, 2015 Report Posted June 12, 2015 The paint has chipped off in some places on my wheels (scraping the curb ). What paint (brand, type) should I buy and from where? They are glossy black wheels. Thanks! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
TheMichael Posted June 12, 2015 Report Posted June 12, 2015 depending on the wheels, I might have a set that I could sell you cheap....

I don't know if you are interested in plasti dipping yours but you are welcome to join us. Corey even set up a fun drive to get there!
isherri Posted June 13, 2015 Report Posted June 13, 2015 FYI there's a thread with all the info and amusing comments but to sum up, Here is the start time and location. It's this Sunday. I'll probably be at the starting point by 8:40. You should join us! Even if you don't want to plasti dip, it's going to be a fun ride! Start Point: J. Michael Middle School 26020 Ticonderoga Rd Chantilly, VA 20152 ***note: be sure to turn on to Ticonderoga from Braddock Rd, as the road is rough and unpaved from the other direction. Start time: 0900 (wheel up time) drivers meeting 0850 Distance: 47.3 miles (1hr 15 min)
R53NERD Posted June 13, 2015 Report Posted June 13, 2015 Any gloss black should work fine. I know BMW has a specific silver for wheels but I'm un sure about a black. Sand out the curb dings with a rotary tool and use a small amount of filler. Scuff it up prime it and respray.
VTHokieJen Posted June 13, 2015 Author Report Posted June 13, 2015 Yep, I saw the plasti-dip thread. I won't be able to make it there. Thanks though. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
mbiedzinski Posted June 15, 2015 Report Posted June 15, 2015 This is why I purchased the wheel and tire insurance when I bought Phineus. It was great being able to just call up MOS and tell them I needed to have the curb rash rubbed out when it happened and to replace a run-flat when it was punctured by a screw.
