I'm sure there are lots of folks in the club running around in 1st gen's with worn bushings and they don't even know it. It's like gray hair - you don't wake up one morning with it... it happens over time. Simple self diagnostic would be excessive suspension noise/creaking etc. Basically, when you hear something that is not of the norm, it's good to have that check out as soon as possible to avoid further damage.
