Event Title: Happy Hour at Sine's  (pronounced like "shuh-nays")

    Event Date: 24 Oct, 2018 06:00 PM to 24 Oct, 2018 08:00 PM

    Event Address:

Sine's on Pentagon Row, Arlington VA

    1301 S. Joyce Street, Arlington, VA 22202

Trying something a little different... a bit closer in to the center(ish) of the DMV.  Stop by on your way home from work or drive in the opposite direction to most everyone else.

Parking (not free, sorry) is available in a garage under Pentagon Row, or adjacent at the Fashion Centre at Pentagon City.

SOMETHING ELSE NEW: this may be one of the few events where you can attend without using your MINI. The Blue and Yellow lines service the Pentagon City station under the Fashion Centre and it's a quick 150 or so yards to Sine's.  This could cause quite a bit of confusion on departure as there may not be as many cars to stand around while talking for that last hour or so...

  2. **SOLD!**   😊

In the continuing journey of getting rid of items from my Countryman, the latest to be offered is this set of (4) white 18" ATS Streetrallye wheels, with TPMS sensors, and with Pirelli Sottozero runflat winter tires.

One of the wheels has some curb rash. See picture. Maybe you know a guy who knows a guy that can fix it?

Tires are 225/50r18 with 14,500 miles and show very little wear.   They've been run for 2 winters now.  The size is slighter taller than stock 18", but this is not a problem (see picture).  This pic is from my 2015 Countryman with the sport suspension option, so it's 10mm lower than the non-sport factory suspension. Plenty of clearance, no rubbing.

Ok, if you've read this far then here's the part that you really want to know:  $1100, but I'm negotiable.

    Cheers,

    Stephen

Bah.. I was all excited but realized this is not for F55.

You putting one in your new ride or you happy with the way it is now?

I'm happy with the way it is now.  Boredom may get the better of me down the road and I'll think about the Dinan or some other solution, but for now... it's good. ?

I actually have a 2007 JCW MCS (N14), but I haven't read anything that says this will work on my car ?

Is it possible to re-wire this for my engine?

    No, I don't think there's any re-wiring.

But, you could email Burger Motorsports and ask them if it's possible to run the N18 JB+ on an N14. There's a dial you can set inside the little box that adjusts the 'deceptive MAF reading' (my wording for what's happening) so maybe that can be set in a way that would work?

  4. I'm only doing the first leg and a half. Heading down earlier in the week for family plans with the mouse, then breaking off for MTTS. I'm stopping in Pensacola on Day 2 to spend a few days with old friends before returning to the DMV via a day at the Dragon...

Won't be able to do MINIs Take Florida prior to the start, but hope I can link up with other DCMMers at the start and through Tallahassee...

  5. We should be able to make it in on time, but just so there's no rush or confusion, can someone from DCMM who's there early pick up mine and Steve's (so far) registration? We plan to do The Hub for dinner and get it by then. Thanks!

And 'thank you' in advance, if anyone is able to do this. Looking forward to catching up with everyone.

Now cross your fingers that the rain holds off...

  6. Agreed about rough timing and getting there in time to join other DCMM at the Hub. I wouldn't mind getting there a little early to find my lodging and get checked-in, but that's not a priority.

How about going west to I-81 before turning south? 95S always seems like such a mess, regardless of day or time of day. We could meet somewhere along -66, west of Centerville. Would that be workable for you, coming from in the District?

  7. Yeah, I'm looking at more like 40mm. I'll see if I can do the math on everything you just said. BTW, where did you get those Streetrallyes? The black ones are high on my list, but the only place I found them was on eBay from Germany, which is less than trust enducing.

    Shipped from Ireland.

    http://www.performancealloys.com

They promptly answered my email questions, as did the ATS rep in Germany. They were listing 16", 17", 18", and 19"... now only the 17s and 18s. Kinda wish I'd bought 16s because of the greater selection of tires available, but... I do like the look of the 18s. Send me a PM if you're seriously considering buying them - TPMS fitment isn't straightforward (I used Huf sensors).

Good luck sorting out the tire size/suspension drop details. Maybe you'll have to break some new ground for the community of R60 owners?

  8. You're going with a bit wider tire, so that also complicates how much offset you can use and how many people are using the tire and the drop your specifically want to know about. At risk of being flamed, I'll say this anyway: I'm sure you've searched NAM... you know you'll find a broader userbase to compare notes.

If it helps for comparison (which is probably doesn't!), I have the factory sport suspension so I'm ~10mm lower than the normal suspension, and...

    - I'm running an OEM 19" for my summers with 225/40.

    - Winters and dirt are 225/50 on ATS Streetrallye 7.5x18 with et48. No rubbing that I know of. I've bounced over some big holes and rocks on forest roads and some big potholes around the DMV. The jarring and uncomfortable sounds seem more like the suspension bottoming out than tire rubbing (and no 'witness marks' that I've noticed in the wells or on the tires).
