  3. I think I may have figured it out. The blue wire for the power antenna/amp power should be connected to the white wire for the factory antenna power. I didn't know to connect this since I didn't install another amp and didn't know what the white wire was. Fingers crossed once the rain goes away!!
  4. Man I wish that was my issue. I checked it before I slid it in the dash and it didn't work. I think it has something to do with the unused wires that came off of the OEM radio harness but I can't find out what they are. GRRR.
  5. After the usual HK amp failure I decided to go aftermarket and replace the HU. I've rewired the speakers and everything sounds great. Problem is I have virtually no radio reception. I only get two or three FM stations and no AM at all. Car is an 04 R53 with Nav. I did use the FM antenna converter so that I didn't have to cut any wires. There were several wires on the OEM HU that went unused in the new install. Were these antenna power? Any help would be appreciated!

Come join us for a fun and educational day filled with safe but adrenaline raising motorsport.</p> <p> </p> <p>Sessions will include a variety of topics to help novice participants better understand what goes on in a day of autocross, and what they will likely be seeing and hearing around them as they participate in the motorsport. Then, drivers will learn how to make the most of their runs by examining techniques like walking the course to determine good run lines, throttle modulation (your gas pedal is not an on-off switch!), and when to brake. Discussions will also cover basic handling conditions such as oversteer and understeer you may have heard of, and how to correct them, and try to prevent these issues to give you your best runs.</p> <p> </p> <p>It’s time to put all of your newfound knowledge to work. With one of our excellent instructors at your side, you will continue to receive guidance to improve your performance and lower your lap times. As you learn how to pick your turn-in points, choose your braking zones and work the throttle wisely, you will notice a consistent improvement in how your car handles confidently and smartly through the sea of cones.</p> <p> </p> <p>There is no better way to get started in autocross than with the NCC Autocross school. 8. Anybody have an HK amp for an R53 for a reasonable price? Mine died today. I can't believe what these things cost. And that no one has come up with an aftermarket fix. :banghead:
  9. I just want to say thanks to all of you who came out and supported the program this season. We have worked hard to reach out to the MINI community and it's great to see it work. Hope to see you all on the 13th!!:motor:
  10. It's a full one year membership. And if you register now you can get the 10/13 event for free. http://forum.nccbmwcca.org/showthread.php?7578-Become-A-Member-Autocross-For-Free!
  11. We would love to have you! If your not a BMWCCA member you can come out and ride along with one of us. The 10/13 event in Waldorf is the final points event of the year.
  12. Here's a vid of my best run of the day. 48.977.
  13. Thanks to everyone for coming out and supporting the program!! The MINI turnout has been better than ever and we love it!! I broke down the results for the MINI's that attended. Congrats to Sherman for the best time of the day for a MINI at 48.849:top: Event 5 MINI Results.pdf Event 5 MINI Results.pdf
  14. AM Session sold out! Only a few all day and PM sessions remaining. :top:
  15. Just posted a ton more pics from the school. Thanks to Amanda Yates and Ali Drew for taking such great pics!!
  16. School results are up!! Thanks to everyone for attending!! http://nccbmwcca.org/content.php?117-autocross
  17. What kind of sound is it making? We only check for safety items. Car empty, wheels and bearings tight, battery held down, etc. However we hate to see anyone break. I assume it's just a general "that ain't right" noise and not a grinding or clunking sound. Do you have anybody who can listen to the sound and make sure it's nothing serious? With all the squeeks, squeals, and rattles MINI's have anyway I'm sure it's fine. Phil
  18. Registration is open! We have had great MINI turnout this year! :top: Big thanks for your support!!
  19. OK. In order to make sure you get the credit for signing up you need to complete step 3 here. http://forum.nccbmwcca.org/showthread.php?7578-Become-A-Member-Autocross-For-Free! Let me know when that's done and I can get issue the credit. FYI, this doesn't apply to associate members so only one credit will be issued. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!! Phil
  20. Yes there are two more. 8/18 in Bowie and 10/13 in Waldorf. It's up to you but it's good to attend at least one autocross event before a school. It helps to get an understanding of what your your actually learning in the school. We have instructors and staff who are available to ride along with novices at each event. But we understand that some are more comfortable taking the school before trying an event. Also, didn't you sign up for a new BMWCCA membership? I didn't see your name on the list for an event credit. LMK. Thanks! Phil
  21. 25 slots left for the July 14th points event. Only 8 AM slots!! 13 MINI's registered for this event. Nice!!:top: http://www.motorsportreg.com/index.cfm/event/event.advert/uidEvent/413A2B7B-0162-ADF1-6AFEE189979EAB54
  22. I have 4 195/55R16 tires for sale. Two are Bridgestone and have about 75% tread. The other two are Goodyear and have about 40% tread. All are in good condition. One has a tear where it was removed from rim but it will hold air. All four are run flats. $50.00 obo. Just want them outta the yard!!
