Hey guys it been a while, but I'm coming up next week on the 27th to the 2nd. Told Craig I would let you guys know when I come to town. Can't believe I been in Florida for over a year now and without my mini 10 months. Coming up to see my new nephew, but would love to get a mini fix while I'm in town. I will see if there are any events during that time. I know my ranger couldn't keep up with you guys. Hope to see some of the old group.
Jason.

Had a great time, it was nice to see everyone again. It'dbeen too long this my last driving event.

It'll be fine to drive, I took a year to get my timing chain fixed. So a week ain't bad. If your out of warranty laurayou might want to get some quotes. Heard it's pretty pricey.

I had a 19% pulley on my 2006 mini cooper s. I had injectors and a tune done to support the 19% pulley. It does make your supercharger wear out quicker. I would recommend the 15% pulley. That's what we stuck on my brothers car and not enough difference for the early supercharger change.

If anyone with a 2007+ MINI has engine noise on cold starts in cold weather should take it to the dealer to get it check out. I was told that it has no side effects on the engine so I let it go for a while and wish I didn't. Just got my JCW clubman back after 2 days from MINI of Sterling. They had to redo my timing chain and tensioner. The mechanic also said my car's timing had been off effecting my mpg and performance. I thought I had clutch issue's which ended up being the engine. Car is great now and I got a nice power increase since my engine is working properly and they also gave me the updated engine tune. I just wanted to let people know because I could have lost my engine if I left it much longer.

My clutch is going anyday now, only 30,000 miles on my car

Yeah I was a little nervous when my mini was torn apart for sway bar and short throw shifter, but I would recommend chad at detriot tuning. He even retorqued my wheels for me a couple of times. He told me that driving the dragon hard you should check your wheel bolt torques everyday there. I will try to bring one with me for our club this year.

Hi all,
This is basically a copy of an email I'm sending to a service advisor at a MINI dealership, and wanted to see if any of you might have a thought or two on what's going on. Thanks in advance!
When I drove my car (MINI Cooper S, 2007) in Sports mode (as always) I noticed something strange when accelerating (that is, feeding gas). It seems to be using too much gas and thus the RPMs are jumping very high and rather suddenly--normally it's smoother, but not in this case. Also it sometimes feel like I'm not feeding it enough gas when I start off (almost stalled, very rough running). It's almost like there's some kind of sticky valves feeding gas, but I'm not sure if MINI has such valves that would get sticky?
This has been going on since yesterday (Thursday). The last time I drove before yesterday was last Saturday and I don't recall any such problems. One other thought I have is I wonder whether I got bad gas from the Shell station in front of the Landmark Plaza? Does this sound like bad gas? I alway use octane 93 or 91 (if 93 is not available), and always from Shell or other Top Tier stations.
Does it drive normally without sports mode on? If it does could be a tuning issue. If not I wouldn't drive it until looked at. If you car is leaning out or running extremely rich you could do engine damage. I learnt this the hard way with one of my old cars and cracked the head between spark plugs.

Dan,
are you all running any specials or discounts that day on the LED kits for an 09 Clubman. I wanted to switch from boring stock lights to LED interior. Thanks:motor:
I would be interested in a LED kit as well if there was a sale.

I'll take the fernell lense for pick up or mail. I live in Annandale, VA. How much did you want for it?
-
Ummm -can you plug a blender into a MINI?
Could run a small inverter off the 12 volt plug in the boot.

SO ... sure Im naive, and unschooled if you have a sway bar you dont need alignments? Uh?
Not if you car already had a good alignment. Changing out the swaybar doesn't change anything, neither does springs. You do need to still do alignments when you car gets out of alignment and it's a good thing to check if you change out your tires and they have had uneven wear.

I'm looking for a room, so if anyone has one in a cabin or anything let me know. I'm also going to start looking on NAM.
