DCMM Photo Contest Rules

Posted (edited)

This photo contest is being held for members of the DCMM, to help encourage members of the DCMM to get out and shoot some new photos, and to encourage members to continue to advance their photography skills. As a side note, when your buddies get on your case about taking too many photos of your car, you have a valid excuse to give them.

RULES and SUBMISSIONS page

The monthly photo contest is designed to give members a reason to get out and shoot, get creative, show off your MINI(s), your style, and your skills, and to have your work voted on by fellow members of the DC Metro Minis.

The winning pictures may be displayed at the following DCMM monthly Meet'n Greet and the selected image may display at the dealership until the next contest winner is announced or as long as we are allowed to keep it up. Additionally, all photo submissions will be looked at as candidates to include in the DCMM website banner images and, possibly, creating a DCMM calendar! You will be credited for your art when/wherever it is used.

Please read ALL of the rules:

1. Two (4) entries per member per month

2. The photos must be MINI related, comply with the site guidelines, be no larger than 10 MB in .jpeg format. Full resolution will be requested from the finalists, for print outs.

3. Entries must be YOUR original work.

4. You retain all copyrights to the photo, and will receive credit for your photo if selected. DCMM will reserve the right to use/post the submitted images in club site, forum and publishing.

5. For photo submissions to be included in the contest, it must be shot within 3 months from the date of the topic announcement. Generally we will use the honor system, however EXIF data may be spot checked. Please leave the EXIF data attached. If you don't know what EXIF is, just make sure the date setting on your camera is correct. Do not use "save for web" in Photoshop as that will remove the EXIF data.

6. You may edit the photo for lighting or color and minor edits, but each submission must retain an appearance that it was captured on camera. (No abstract editing)

7. Deadline for entry will be specified in each contest announcement.

8. All photos must be submitted to email at cmcveay1-ybx3@post.me.com.

9. All photos will be screened by the contest committee and narrowed down to 10 finalists. The 10 finalists will be up for voting by DCMM members to determine the winner.

10. The contest committee members are not allowed to submit his/her images into the contest in person or by proxy.

11. Must be DCMM members, in order to be able to submit the image(s) to the contest.

For purposes of voting, each photo will be numbered 1-10 for each of the finalists. Each user is allowed one vote. The photo with the most votes by 9 p.m. Eastern Time, of the date specified in the announcement. Winners may have their photo on display at the next monthly meet and greet.
