TGGRRR (Ali) Posted February 28, 2017 Report Posted February 28, 2017 Sharing for another group. If you're going the RSVP here is just to arrange with other club members. They have their own RSVP for the official event. Please share with your club members... MINIs at The Glen is part of the opening track weekend at Watkins Glen International in Watkins Glen, NY. Last year, 206 MINI Coopers converged at The Glen to take three paced laps around a newly paved track surface. This established an unofficial record at The Glen for the most cars of a single brand at the track. The laps were followed by an after party at the infamous Seneca Lodge, home to many after-parties from the Grand Prix days in the 70’s. We are asking you to spread the word among your club members and to organize a contingent from your area. As they say, the more the merrier as we try to break last year’s unofficial record of 206 MINI Coopers. The official meetup is on Sunday, April 9th at 10am at the Torrey Ridge Winery on State Route 14 in Penn Yan NY. All clubs will rally together from there to the Watkins Glen International. Official lap times at The Glen start at noon. All drivers and passengers must sign a waiver prior to being let onto the track. Once staged at the entrance, we will be escorted to the paddock and staged for our laps. The cost is $25 for 3 paced laps...CASH ONLY. All proceeds go to charity. Towne MINI & MINI of Rochester are hosting an after party at the aforementioned Seneca Lodge. Details on the party will be announced shortly. THE AFTER PARTY IS FREE TO THE FIRST 300, BUT YOU DO HAVE TO REGISTER FOR THE PARTY. To register for the event go to either: http://www.townemini.com/MINIsattheGlen OR http://www.miniofrochester.com/MINIsattheGlen OR It doesn’t matter which one you use, they link to the same master list. If you are registering from Canada, use 14221 as the zip code as the web page does not recognize Canadian postal codes. If folks wish to head up to Watkins Glen, the Whine Country Coopers club is planning some pre-events. Contact Craig Nelson at csnfoto@stny.rr.com for details. Share this event with you MINI owners, spread the word & join us for a fun day! Bill Wende, Administrator MINI Club of WNY Tigger 2006 the cabrio and Riversong the 2014 Countryman
