gnhovis Posted March 19, 2012 Report Posted March 19, 2012 (edited) Sold Ireland Engineering stainless steel exhaust for 2002-2004 R53 Cooper S. Single sided-design is considerably lighter than stock. Throaty sound, but does not drone. Switched back to stock so I can sell the car. (IE will sell you a single oval tip if you want.) The good: Easy to install. Just supply a new gasket, two bolts, and reuse your rubber hangers. The bad: You may need to bend the rear brackets for it to fit correctly. (If you bend the inside arm so it's perpendicular instead of parallel to the outside one, it will fit 2005-2006 R53.) The ugly: The front muffler is shot. I cut a hole in it to see what was rattling around and the insides are cooked and loose. You could either swap in a new muffler, resonator, or just a straight pipe. Located in Mount Airy, MD, $100/OBO if picked up. Paypal preferred. I can box and ship it FEDEX ground, but it won't be cheap... PM if interested.
