Was I pulling out of the storage unit there? I think I remember seeing another mini right out there last night. I am indeed hyper blue and was there at 10pm straight up (dropping the old exhaust into my storage unit.)
I was outside eating a late dinner with my fiancee... facing the other direction but I tend to get distracted by loud cars so turned around in time to catch a glimpse
Wish I'd heard the hushpower though - must be awesome!

Is this still on your car and any chance you drove through Clarendon (Clarendon and N Fillmore) last night roundabout 9-930?
If so, I heard you and it was awesome. If not, there's another hyper-blueish R53 S with a nice exhaust prowling the hard streets of Clarendon.

This better be available with red LEDs that trace back and forth...

It was me! It was me! I saw you as well. Even better was coming out to find the DC Mini club card on my window that same day. My tag is MINI NJA.
Mini is a 2011 factory standard JCW. Just picked him up in August.
Um. Hi everyone.
Yep... had to come back out at lunch and tag your MINI. Welcome!

Pulled into my Reston town center parking garage this morning directly behind another black JCW hatch (what are the chances?!). This one looked to be a slightly newer 2011/2012 with the CR roof / bonnet stripes, but otherwise nearly the twin of mine.
They peeled off the other direction and I was late for a meeting so couldn't track them down but was a great start to the morning!
Also, the tag was some seven letter derivation of "MINI Ninja" I believe, if it was you.

You guys are killing me. Lona tested it from work earlier and it was okay. I'll bring the movie on the iPad and a thumbdrive so folks can get copies and then I'll figure out a better way to upload it so it can be accessed.
I was able to download the video just fine this morning (Firefox, Windows 7)

Ahem - DSC is standard nowadays, folks.
Not current on the 2011/2012 models but she might have meant DTC (dynamic traction control), which is (was?) the optional intermediate setting allowing a bit more yaw/fun over the standard stability control program.
My '09 defaults to stability control full-on, press and hold for DTC, press and hold again for all assists off but the e-diff lock.

I second this... and I should have mentioned it in my previous post. The Harman Kardon stereo option in 2nd Gen MINIs is really, really good - light years beyond the base and "Hi-Fi" stereo options. It's a totally different (superior) animal than the Harman Kardon option from 1st Gen MINIs, because it was redesigned/remodeled after the rare "Digital POWER SoundModul" option for 1st Gens, which itself was designed by a German custom audio house especially for MINI.
If you love music, make darn sure to check the box for the H/K stereo.
I have the base unit in my R56 and it is crap (the 14 year old unit in my other car is far superior). Would highly recommend getting the upgrade if you plan to listen to anything on a regular basis.
Fortunately, the factory intake, BOV and exhaust on my JCW is all the audio I need day-to-day.

Tagged a white Countryman in a Reston Town Center parking garage this morning.
Also, I've noticed a black JCW hatch with red center stripes a couple times now in the same garage.

One that I took...

Is anyone here the owner of an MD-plate red Countryman with the tag "ZAFTIG" in the College Park area? If so you are now famous on the internetz.

Yarsay,
I thought of the key. I habitually use one key (another annoyance - all the settings revert to default if I use the other). The key does not seem to be the issue; I get the "lost source" effect with the one key.
Consider me stumped then. I haven't noticed the same issue in mine (I'm using an old iPod Video that I leave permanently in the car hooked up through the proprietary $$$ USB + audio jack connector).
Always seems to resume with the last audio source I used unless I've disconnected the iPod at some point or if the battery discharged. Or I might just not notice.

Last year's MTTB was my first taste of DCMM - plan to be there again this year.
I'm also planning to print out some flyers and tag the 10+ MINIs that have popped up in my apartment's parking garage (they're multiplying!)
-
MINI might store individual settings to each key, so if you're using a different key to access/start your MINI it might revert to the audio settings of when that key was last used, rather than the last time you drove.
That said, it's more likely something that Craig mentioned.

Here are some new shot taken by people at H20i. (What a weekend :cheers:)
Stance! Not my style but good work (and hella flush?) :top:

I try to make it out at least once a month and can usually be found in my JCW or an older green M3. I always take pictures; I have a link to some from July below but have yet to upload my August set.
It gets super-crowded in the summer so best to show up by 7am if you want to park in the main lots. There are always a handful of AWESOME cars that make it worth waking up so early on a Saturday.
Abridged July set on my blog here
Larger July set hosted here
I'd love to meet up with other MINIacs so give me a shout if you plan on heading out in the future!

Also, if it's not clear, you don't need to find a security code in the manual, just make up your own (try 0000 or 1234) and enter it into both the MINI and device when prompted.
At least that worked on my Incredible 2...

Sad to see you giving up a JCW but excited to welcome a potential new person to the club.
Just as an FYI, the link to your Flickr account is broken - the truncated link does not point to the full-length page address (but rather the truncated text).

Yarsay, the name is actually a play on my real name (Thomayne). I was born and raised in South Carolina, go Gamecocks!
No worries, I promise not to hold it against you. Always on the lookout for fellow Mainahs.

Hello All. I wanted to stop in and say hello as I am a new 2006 S owner out of DC. All I can say is that I've always wanted a Mini but now I only wish I had gotten one sooner. The NAM board and this one have been my daily reading since I picked up the car. Everyone have a lovely day.
Welcome! Can I safely assume from your username that you too are a former resident of the 207?

The weekend is sadly now over, but I went down to Skyline with my buddy (he's driving the black 5.0) and took a spin in the new 650i when BMW had their drive for team USA event at Sterling BMW/MINI.

Tagged a red clubby S with MD dealer plates at reston town center yesterday. Glad my MINI got to park next to a friend for the day.

I thought I would just leave this here to help you guys get through a post-Dragon Monday...

Any issues with the lower resistance LEDs causing bulb-out warnings? Thinking I will install these soon...

I happen to be one of those last minute scheduling disasters so between me and my +1 that opens up two spaces and should get us closer to 60 overall.
Hope you guys have an awesome drive tomorrow! Upset to have to miss it this year. Glad I got my motoring in today heading to and from Cars and Coffee.
