Are the wheels and tires still available?

I still have the tires/wheels/TPS. Ready to make your ride better and handling safer. 205/55/16 RE 960's. One size up from stock. Perfect INHO. biggrin.gif

I also have the coca-mats , seat covers and Carbotech brake pads.

In Bowie. Believe it or not, you can put 4 wheels in a Mini.

I forget to check the BBS. Sorry to answer late.

  2. Well, it looks like a carpet covered piece of plywood. A picture would look black.

It has a bolt eye where the spare tie down hooks in. I used bronze colored furniture bolts to bolt it down.

The spare I mounted behind the driver, so I made about a 10 x 14 flush hatch on the passenger side to access under the seat for storage. A big block of foam keeps things from sliding under the tire side.

I tie-wrapped the seat belt buckles under the deck to keep them from rattling. Center buckles unbolt of course.

  3. I have for sale:

Set of 205-55 16 RE 960's on 7 spoke OEM wheels with TBS, only about 15K on them. Much easier to clean than the stars! $400

New set of carbotech pads. Far better control than stock or HPC. $200

Lightly used coca mats, moss seat covers in black/tan cheap.

Rear seat delete carpeted with storage bin and spare hold down. Cheap

One of those little fernell lenses to let you see traffic lights. Whoever.

Set of almost new stock S shocks. Come and get them.

My GTI gets here Monday. 4 doors. Rear seat. Cargo space.

  4. I am super happy with my RE960 standard all seasons. I carried a run flat as a spare.

They are 205's rather than the 195. 16". Rational real street tires. OK, not as quick as summer gumballs, but still safe in the wet.

I will be selling mine as I am about to trade my car in on a GTI and put the runflats back on. On 5 spoke OEM wheels with sensors of course.

  5. hmmm.... how about Passport MINI for $79.95 plus tax? Probably cheaper than most other places, and you get to have a MINI-trained technician check out your car (who ONLY works on MINI's)! How many places can say that? :top:

Only places that charge way too much. :hahaha:

5 quarts of Amzoil, and filters bought at the dealer with our discount. About ten minutes of my time. under $60 and I don't need an appointment for my driveway.

  6. I put on RE 960's this week. 205-55-16. Much Quieter, less harsh, but a really big change is steering response. I have to re-learn the car. After it does change direction, they have a lot more grip than the Conti's. It is just that a corner is now a two step process. This is not a fault, but a return to normal. I ran them on my RSX and was very pleased for Maryland weather as well as sporty driving.

Note I put on Bilstein's already so there was no change in the bouncyness over bumps. It was already cured.

  7. Getting better mileage is a simple concept. It is related to the activity of our right foot. Unfortunately, most of us have a bit of difficulty with that. ( reason we drive Mini's). I am lucky to drive about 80% highway. That's how I get 31. Of course if I drove 20 MPH slower, I would get about 33. :)

  8. remember, the oil change lasts for 15K miles.

I change my oil every 5K with Amzoil. 15K is totally bogus and will help to be sure you need a new car sooner than later. This is SUPER easy. If you don't want to, just buy some filters (overpriced too) and your pick of top quality synthetic oil. Any local honest shop will gladly change your oil for a half hour labor. It takes about 10 minuets.

The only to stop BMW (and VW too) from $260 oil changes is to STOP doing it. Protest with your wallet.

  9. As soon as I get my refund from the HUD, I will order a scangaugeII. I think I will mount it on the trim to the left of the pod. I found something sticking up above the tach caused me distracting vision problems. It is me, not the HUD. I kind of like the PLX for doing just water and volts, but it is a lot more bucks.

  10. Found a plethora of ODB-II based systems. Scangauge as already mentioned, BullyDog, PLX, Dash Hawk, Aero Force, and what looks like the cream of the crop, DashDaq. From buck-seventy to don't ask. It seems some are intigrating with GPS map programs, so one display could do many things. Gauges, maps, performance, MP3.

As these are all ODB based, I don't know if the speed they display is correct, or the same 2 and a half high. All these look like a slick way to get the temp, volts, boost, oil gauges that MINi left off.
