I don't know if the design is the same on the first gens, but I did my rear brakes on my R56 a couple of weeks ago and I used a pair of needle-nosed pliers to turn the "x" in to retract the piston.

I just got mine back from Rose.While I was there getting my new non-melted key re-programmed, I mentioned the problem and they diagnosed the chain problem.

Costco still sells the 3 pack of Motorolas. The price as of yesterday was $59.95. IIRC, the old price was $79.95. The package includes the radios, rechargeable battery packs, recharger, belt clips and ear buds.
