All,
Just a quick word concerning mods installed at MOTD. We've probably all had at least one of some description while at MOTD. There's a reason I'm posting this...
I'm getting my MINI serviced and they've just discovered a missing bolt that explains a rattle that I've had for a while now. This is a bolt associated with a mod I got at MOTD last May.
So, I'm not trying to discourage anyone from getting mods, BUT, at least try to learn as much as you can about the potential mod and understand what it involves and how long it might take. If you choose to get a mod, don't be afraid to ask the vendor to check and re-check for missing parts, loose bolts, general "work-quality".
The MOTD vendor area can become very chaotic at times, and while many vendors are willing to take on very large jobs - brakes, sway-bars, cylinder heads, often bragging they can do it very quickly - pulleys in 10 minutes!! Even the most experienced technician can make a mistake in that sort of environment.
The last place you want to find out that a mod was not installed properly is ON THE DRAGON!! :embarassed:
So, just be cautious and informed. Enjoy MOTD!
I bet it was Way. Mr 10 min sway Way.
-
Um, why are you getting an alignment after a swaybar installed?
-
No Way Jay! Who is this old guy suppose to  with at the Dragon :questionmark:
There is Haemish  If I were to go, I would have to leave Friday night and get there Sat early morning and be there for about a day. Not worth it.

Not going this year. I don't know about MINInurse though.

Nice COOP! :top::rock::congrats:
-
Yep, including the Spring Fling, the first weekend after Tax Day. Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on your perspective), with that day being Monday, April 18th this year, I likely won't host the Spring Fling until the followin

Chad @ Detroittuned.com sells the Cooper spare. I am considering getting one.
-
don't you have a set already? or are you looking for a second set?
Backups since they are going to be extremely difficult to obtain.

Just wondering, but is this a member only thing or can ex members attend?
-
I can't for the life of me remember who did that.
Anyhow, no bears people...you'll scare Laura:wink:
It was pretty Krutty of them to do it

I'm a sucker for free wheels and am very tempted. These are the 2 piece ones right?
Not sure if these will fit your MINI 2nd Gen has bigger lug holes

This is like the 3rd survey from a UMD student that is on survey monkey since I have owned a MINI. I wonder if it is a student idea or a professor.

I'm making myself nuts here but I've decided to keep the S Lites and paint them. The Web spokes that I have are in worse shape so I'm going to get rid of them instead.
Ali
LOL going back on the car!!!
-
And you can't just bring Gummie Bears like an old member did a while back.
-
Laura, you need to go 5% all the way around and 50% on the windshield!

The rules state:
9. All photos will be screened by the contest committee and narrowed down to 10 finalists. The 10 finalists will be up for voting by DCMM members to determine the winner.
I know there were more than 5 photos submitted.
Can't wait to hear this one.

Thanks. May want to add that to your posting guidelines for the marketplace then. Cheers!
Actually it does. Read #2

This is not Wii Fit Plus
I am selling a rarely used Wii Fit. It comes with the balance board and game. I have checked Amazon and this seems to be the going price.
I am in Germantown MD and am willing to either meet up or you can pick up.
:hahaha:
(This is not me )

Can I bring my own ammo?

Wait a minute, the calendar says 11/19, but the event is 11/21 right?
-
Dude, you need to start scheduling stuff for the weekends.

Waiting for jan to show up in the area for my clean up tune, wicked fast already. Any one know the next time hes coming out:questionmark:
Nope. If you want a new tune, contact Jan and Mach V and start the ball rolling and see if you can get Jan back here.

Hi folks. I'd like to hear your experience with any strut tower mushrooming and/or torn upper strut mounts, and what steps you've taken to address them (strut tower plates, braces, or camber plates, etc.).
If you don't mind sharing your experience by replying with the information below I'd be grateful. To start, I've provided my information below as well. I'm not doing any scientific research or survey, but just want to know what may work or not on DC Metro roads.
1. Vehicle type:
2. Mushrooming, torn strut mounts, or both:
3. Wheels/tires (e.g., 17" run flats):
4. Any preventive measures (e.g., strut tower plates, braces, or camber plates - please describe make/model):
5. Have your preventive measures been successful in preventing mushrooming or damaged towers?
For me:
1. Vehicle type: R53
2. Mushrooming, torn strut mounts, or both: Both
3. Wheels/tires (e.g., 17" run flats): 18" non-run flats
4. Any preventive measures (e.g., strut tower plates, braces, or camber plates - please describe make/model): JCW Strut Brace
5. Have your preventive measures been successful in preventing mushrooming or damaged towers? No. The passenger side has mushroomed/had torn strut mounts twice
Thanks!
Mark
'04 R53 MCS Had mushrooming, but fixed it. I put camber plates and strut tower brace. Had 17"RFs, went to 18" NonRFs and am now on 17" Non RFs. Fixed it a few years ago and no mushrooming since.
Wife's car '06 R52 MCSc Had mushrooming, but fixed it. Put on strut tower brace. Had 17"RFs, went to 18" NonRFs. No mushrooming since.
The reason your mushrooming has returned is because you are using a JCW brace. That does not do anything for mushrooming, IMO, mostly for looks.
