nharrison21 Posted July 5, 2012 Report Posted July 5, 2012 Went out to wash ender and get some ice cream with the family earlier and was sitting at the light when a noise came up i had never heard before and then a small puff of white smoke came out from under the hood. I immediately pulled over and popped the hood and didnt see anything life threatening did smell what seemed to be something electrical. Being as I was only a 1/4 mile from home I figured Id get it back and as I was driving I noticed the AC was now blowing outside air and not a drop of cool air. Ids this a mojor problem or did the AC compressor just crap out on me??? Any Ideas??? I tried to contact all three mini dealers in the area and all three were either busy or went to voicemail...Any Ideas?? ________________________________________________________________ [sIGPIC]http://www.motoringalliance.com/gallery/data/500/nh21003.jpg[/sIGPIC] 2004 MC JB/W CVT DSC H/K R50 "Operation De-Chrome" 90% Complete
nharrison21 Posted July 10, 2012 Author Report Posted July 10, 2012 (edited) So got the news today that ender blew the A/C hose from the condenser to the firewall which I figured phew...at least it wasnt the compressor....then he quoted me a price which about made my head spin 1.2k!!!! For a hose...Has anyone had this issue??? Being new to the area im not to keen on just dropping off my car to just any mechanic so I was gonna see if anyone had a respectable one that could help me out in my position and not try to hamstring me (i.e. payment plan work with me on the price). The car is totally safe to drive from what Ive been told but I have no A/C til I get this hose replaced which turns out is in the bowels of the engine and is a 5 hr job to replace..which means i get killed on the labor. Again thanks for all the help Edit... Just found this Forum post and it is the same problem that I now have... http://www.northamericanmotoring.com/forums/stock-problems-issues/140701-air-conditioning-hose-rubbing-issues.html Edited July 10, 2012 by nharrison21 Found Similar Problem ________________________________________________________________ [sIGPIC]http://www.motoringalliance.com/gallery/data/500/nh21003.jpg[/sIGPIC] 2004 MC JB/W CVT DSC H/K R50 "Operation De-Chrome" 90% Complete
