I saw a Roadster last Thursday night as I was passing the parking lot of the Walgreen's at the corner of 28 and Sudley in Manassas. Since it was dark, I couldn't tell if it was white or silver, but it had a VA license plate MINI R59. Anyone?
Me. :wavey: My wife wanted dinner, so I told her we were eating healthy... I went to the Five Guys on that corner. I see your Roadster sometimes when I park at the VRE for work; I didn't think many MINIs, much less Roadsters, were even in Manassas.

May be the Paceman is rare because it is a bad BMW? I had a loaner Countryman, what it is based off, and it handled like an old school bus.
Did get a nice wave from a white 1st gen MINI on Fullerton a few days ago in Springfield. :wavey:

Dave, congrats! Hope to see another R59 in the area soon. :wavey:
-
Speaking of the Clifton area, got a nice wave on Hampton Road from a gent in a silver R57. :wavey: Sounds like there are a few MINIs roaming around this area.

Does Rigsby ever make it to the DEA building in VA? I saw a red R59 a few weeks ago near work and I thought it was cool to finally see one that wasn't parked at a BWM/MINI dealer.

Great pics!! That is the route I take home everyday; next time there will be a R59 with your group. :top:
-
R59 pics... R59 pics... now? :wavey: Short of a Boxster or the R59 cousin the Z4 the R59 is the best open top driver's car on the road. :top::top:
-
Yea, another R59!!! :wavey: It is a blast to drive, enjoy it, and pictures are a must. Also, get ready for thumbs up and lots of questions about it at stop lights.

Got a nice wave from a dude in a British Racing Green hardtop today off of Henderson. :wavey: Saw plenty of MINIs when my fiancee and I were killing time in Alexandria this weekend at the dealer off of Duke (?) St. They had one R59 on the lot... JCW and really fancy and all; someone should go buy it. :top:

Maybe you can convince Amy to get rid of that PT Cruiser and get a proper car like say.....
A MINI!!!!
:rock::top:
Cute story, so far only dudes have talked to me about my R59.

I believe she knows very well what she bought, stickers and all. She liked what the previous owner did, and didn't see any reason to change it. Including the stickers.
Maybe I missed something?
Good she knows how awesome her car is. :top: When she left all the previous owner's stickers and such I guessed (incorrectly) that she just wanted a great commuter car. I have had limited edition cars that people have bought used just because the price was right, they didn't know what they were buying, etc...

We met the owner at Cars and Coffee (Great Falls) today. She is a nice lady, bought the car used and left it - stickers and all - as you see it. Her name's Jill, and she had an S previously. Jennifer, John (Celia's dad) and I spoke to her about the club, gave her cards for both C3M and DCMM, and she said she'll have to look into the clubs. Seemed very interested in joining up.
I like how some people buy limited edition sports cars used and don't even know what they have. Price was right and it is just a MINI right?

Pics? And MINIs LOVE some twisty roads. :top:
Thanks Bert! Sounds like the stork brought your baby around the same time as mine Picked up Johnny from Passport on April 13th. This was the first car I ordered. Different experience but very cool watching it come over from England Hope to meet you at an event soon. -
The Sport button seems to make the handling, SLIGHTLY sharper... mostly it just makes the car "fart" as my fiance calls it. :hahaha:
And some oogling time...

My guess is when you copied the original CDs to your hard drive the software looked up the GraceNote (http://www.gracenote.com/about) data and applied this info to the burned CD as CD TEXT data (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CD-Text). Most commercial CDs made in the last few years will have the CD Text data already on the disc and it will display on the MINI's display.
Commercially made CDs that display only the track number on the display will either have to be a) purchased again and hope the label added the CD Text data or b) copy the old disc to a computer and burn a new disc. Burn the disc as a standard audio CD or use .wav files for the best sound quality. :top:

All 2nd Gen MINIs have a Sport button. The 1st Gens don't, but as I like to say... that's because they are ALWAYS in sport mode!
NICE :top:

What rocket scientist decided to put two bearded guys in a roadster and make a commercial out of it? You are right man, those commercials were pretty weak.
Exactly. :stupid: The video does show off the excellent handling and throaty exhaust note of the R59. Thanks for the videos though, the first one with the red R58 reminds me of me and my fiance driving :motor: No name yet, and now I know where all the cool MINIs are, Sudley road. :top:
More exhaust note goodness... sport mode it pops and bangs too. Do the HT Ss have a sport button too?

Henderson Road (Burke Lake Area) and the surrounding roads have plenty of fun turns and corners for fun in a MINI.

Thanks all, yes I will be joining. I will have to take a look at the events forum for the meet and greet! Hope to see another Roadster there; I don't see many MINIs in Manassas. There is one blue R58 down the street from my house that my MA sold. :wavey: These cars are too much fun... while not a JCW, I get the same giggle as Clarkson does at 2:12 in this video every day.

Hi all, just bought a new Roadster Cooper S a few weeks ago and loving it. Performs better than the car I was looking at getting (TT Roadster) and about $5K less. Hope to see you guys around town... I will wave back, unless I am downshifting to get away from the slow cars! :motor:
Was it you???
