Just had a spark plug blow out of cylinder 3 this afternoon .
-
I usually do Katie's C&C on Saturday, but may check this out instead.
-
Is the duck going to be there? I will probably swing by with the classic.
-
Craig! I can't believe you'll miss this one we need more orange!!!!
I may be able to make this one with Nigel.
-
It's supposed to be a beautiful day, so I may swing by with Nigel after Cars and Coffee.
-
Great job on the engine bay and engine. What a difference!
You should definitely come to Katies Cars and Coffee sometime. I took Nigel for the first time last week and had a lot of fun. The classics definitely get a lot of interest!

Let me know when you decide to get back to work on Watson. I don't have a lot of experience, but can provide an extra set of hands. Plus, any hands-on time with a classic will only benefit Nigel later on .

I know pulling mine is pretty simple like 6 wires, the heater hoses, the fuel line, and undo the motor mounts and out it comes. Yours is a little newer so might be a bit more involved.
Sounds simple enough. Did you use an engine hoist? I've heard that two guys can lift the A series engine out of the car

I need to do the same thing with Nigel. The PO cut a large hole into the left inner wing where the radiator grille slats used to be. So at some point I would like to put a repair panel in - as well as clean up all the gunk and grime.
-
I have black side scuttles for a Gen 1 MINI, and a spare alternator that came with Nigel.
-
Awesome, I will definitely check out D&V. No one was hurt and the damage isn't too bad - just the rear bumper.
-
Just got rear ended on my way home from work. Does anyone have any recommendations for a shop to do bumper repair in the Sterling area?

I'll actually be out of town for MTTB5

Hey guys and gals,
Just picked up a 1980 Austin Mini named Nigel. Thinking about bringing him to PMoA on Saturday!

I'll take the Bentley manual if it is still available!
-
I contacted the owner earlier this week to set up a time to look at it, but our schedules haven't lined up yet. It's a great price, but I'm leaning toward something more original. Not a fan of the flared back end.
Also found an older ad for the car here: http://www.miniguy.com/vehicles/ryx396r-1977-austin-mini/

I'll take the Auto Up Circuit!
-
Man, I wish you had posted this a week ago. Just picked one up from Outmotoring last week! It's a great addition to any first gen MINI.
-
I'll post some photos this evening!
Let me know if you have trouble viewing them.
-
Can you post a photo please? Preferably not on photobucket that my work computer doesn't like?
I'll post some photos this evening!

Really want these out of the garage!

Fixed.

Whoops. They are indeed 16".

Got a set of 15" holies, so I am getting rid of the silver 16" R83 5 Star Alloys that came with car. All the rims have varying degrees of rash. Could maybe use as a dedicated snow tire setup? Rims are wrapped in Bridgestone Potenza G019 Grid 195/55R16 with 3/16" tread depth. Asking $250 obo.
Time to look as good as He runs

Glad to see you made it back in one piece. Nigel is enjoying the extra space in the garage
