I was wondering if there was going to be a run from the DC/MD/NoVA area. If not, we may consider going to Richmond and join the HR group for the ride. Still trying to decide if we're going yet though.

Ali,
Is everyone bringing their own lunch or is the plan to stop along the way. I'll need to make an early grocery run or stop in at Wegmans before we head out if we're bringing lunch with us.
Thanks! Ken

So is the consensus that we're stopping for lunch??? Want to know before tomorrow so I can hit the grocery store if necessary...but we're up for eating out. Charlestown should have lots of options.
-
I realized that right after I hit "send". LOL... You know, this might be a good time (when we stop for lumch) to try out those new bug repellant gadgets that you hang on your belt that I've seen advertised. I'm wondering if they really work!
If they do, then maybe I'll put one on the front bumper too!

Wax up the nose really good and pour on the Rain-X. Bugs will slide right off!

I would check with your dealer, but I believe the TPMS system will work with your winter wheels. The way you can fix the TPMS system is by resetting it with the new wheels and then driving for a couple of miles. This is because the Cooper TPMS system is an Indirect TPMS.
There is a sensor that monitors the RPM of each wheel. When one wheel loses enough pressure the circumference is reduced and that wheel will spin faster and therefore triggers the warning light. The reset feature starts the measurement all over again the next time you drive the car and basically resets all 4 wheels.
Because it does not use a direct pressure sensor, it should (theoretically) work with any wheel/tire combination provided all 4 are the same size.

Thanks Ali! Where did you order your filter?

I have a 2009 Cooper S and lately, when I turn on my AC, the air smells like a stale musty vacuum cleaner. This goes away after about 3 minutes. Has anyone else experienced this or know how to resolve it? I'm wondering if there is an interior cabin air filter that may have gotten wet. Any thoughts are welcome!

Once you have it, you'll wish everyone did. It's essential for heading up through DE, NJ, and NY!

Sounds great! We'll try and make the next run for sure!

Craig, you put "Sunday" in this post, but the event is Saturday, the 17th... want to make sure you have the right day.
Nancy and I will plan to meet at the Sears lot accross from PMoA. See you there.

How would everyone feel about meeting at the Sears Parking lot across from Passport MINI? Meet at 9 a.m., wheels up at 9:30 and have a save drive down there? That location has easy access to 395 and all points south.

I pay this same amount for synthetic oil & filter for my 4WD SUV (which usually cost more to remove skid plates, etc). When I took our MINI into PMoA for our 1st annual maintenance plus Oil Change PLUS VA state inspection. Total bill: $0.00!!! I was shocked.
So, if you bought your MINI from PMoA, I've found their service exceptional over the past year. Our MINI is 1 year old this month.

I would buy one so if you're looking for names for the 350, I'm in.

Sounds great Laura. We'll bring a side dish. We like the idea of a run before the picnic, so count us in for that too.

I'm up for a DC/NOVA area convoy

We signed up for A-Team & IM2.

I sent in my email too, but haven't received a response either.

Wow...I can't believe it's Monday already. Great trip and thanks to all the Wednesday caravan. Traveling there made the fun of MOTD8 start 9 hours earlier for us! Can't wait until next year!
See you all at the next event for DCMM.

FYI - there's a downside to doing that... the Calendar and Events forum are both public, so your phone numbers would be visible to the entire Internet if you put them in your RSVP.
Perhaps a group PM would be a better alternative?
Thanks! Forgot about that. I"ve updated both messages and will send the group PM.
-
I just updated the RSVP for the Wed. departure group again. Edge had a good point that everyone could see this. I forgot you didn't need to be logged in. I'll send a group PM that each of us can reply to with a cell number.

Brian,
Thanks for mapping this out! Like you, we're soooo looking foward to Wednesday morning and the 4 days following ! Don't forget to charge your radios!

Hamesh and Laura,
Thank you for putting together a great and fun event today. I think everyone had a great time. I'm looking forward to MOTD! :top:
Thanks for all you do for this club!

This is my home town (although I don't admit that often). We'll check our calendar too.

Ah...yes. I remember that now. I clearly remember the traffic jam, and the detour. I just forgot that it was on the way to Cooper Vinyards.
I think I'll pass on trying to get to Richmond. "Washington Center, ... requesting clearance direct to Cooper Vinyards!"
Thanks for the reminder Craig!
