  1. I would highly recommend Armor Auto Glass. They came out the same day and replaced the driver's side window glass when my MINI got broken in to. And a few months ago I ended up with a pretty big crack in the windshield (it was behind the rear view mirror and I must not have noticed it until it got to be a major crack). Since I knew I was probably going to have to sell my MINI, and inspection was looming, I asked if they could use MINI-branded glass for the windshield. Armor worked with State Farm to make sure that I could have OEM glass installed (even though the glass they use is apparently just as good and under warranty). The MINI branded glass took an extra day to order, but I think it was definitely worth it. Armor Auto glass does the entire NoVA/DC area and is a mobile service so they'll come out to you. You can reach them at 703.478.0090. Susan is the person I worked with in the office and is great. Chris is the Master Technician who knew all about MINIs and did both the window glass and the windshield. Highly recommended!!:top:
  2. Hi all! I’ve just been accepted into a college in Ireland and will be moving there permanently in two weeks. Since I’ve been there the last few months, I’ve apparently let my membership lapse and have lost access to the member forums. I hope no one minds this post here, and if someone could cross-post it, I’d appreciate it. I’d renew my membership but well… I won’t be using it anymore Thanks for all the good times, everyone! To that extent, I am having to sell my 2005 MINI Cooper. I ordered it and have been the only driver of it since taking delivery. Forgive me if I get the abbreviations incorrect (and hopefully I don’t forget anything), here are the details: 2005 MINI Cooper Pure Silver/Black Mileage: 45,000 5-speed manual Packages: Premium (AC, Sunroof, 3-spoke cruise/radio controls- radio plays MP3 CDs) Cold Weather (heated front seats, washer jets) DSC Performance package (sport suspension, rear spoiler, 15” 7-holes, Front and Rear fog lights, Xenon headlights) Leather seats Anthracite interior plus matching headliner Extras: Thule removable roof rack system (with set of load stops and Thule tie-downs) Wet Okole seat covers-front seats (dark gray/black) I’ve had all the service performed at MINI of Sterling, and everything is up to date. I just put $1,000 into it for the service/oil change and new brakes. Inspection was passed June 2009. Kelly Blue Book says that the Private Party Sale value for a MINI in “good” condition with the packages and the mileage is $15,400, not including the roof rack system and the seat covers. The car is also paid off and I have the title. Please let me know if you are interested, I’m in the US and the DC area until August 29 and would be happy to set up test drives, etc. I’d really prefer to sell it to someone in the group vs. going the Craigslist or CarMax route since I know you guys would take care of it! Regardless, I've got to sell it on or prior to Aug 29. Feel free to email me at <firstname>.<lastname>@gmail.com, (replace it with Susan Holmgren) if interested. Thanks all! --Susan
