<p>Yes this year we have a theme and it's pirates. After all we have a boat, OK a ferry which is really a big raft on a cable but we're calling it a Pirate ship!</p>

<p>Dress up if you like and watch for some fun to be announced.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>The club supplies grilling meats, fixings and some light refreshments. </p>
<p>We ask that each person bring a side dish or dessert to share.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>This event is free to members and they can bring one guest (kids are free), <strong>non members pay $5 (Cash only please)</strong></p>
<p> </p>
<p>There will be a run to the #DCMMPiratePicnic and I hear there's talk of an after event</p>

<p>This is something new we have not tried prior to a picnic as far as I know. I'm coordinating a run before the picnic just for fun so we can "arrive together". This run is an hour long and will start at the Harris Teeter in Chantilly. The idea is to allow people time to get last minute items for the picnic, if needed, at Harris Teeter and then head to the picnic. </p>

<p>We will leave at 10:30 with an approximate arrival time of 11:30. This will not be a fast or spirited run considering people will have items for the picnic in their vehicles. </p>
<p> </p>
<p>My apologies being a bit last minute on this run...but for those of you who would like to make it out for the pre-picnic run, please RSVP so I know how many to expect in the morning.</p>

<p><span style="color:#008000;"><strong>Post Picnic Run and Cruise-In</strong></span></p>

<p>Immediately following the picnic I will be leading a run through some of the areas fun roads. The end point will be Cuginis in Poolesville. On the second Saturday of the month they host a "Cruise-In" and welcome everyone to bring out there fun and interesting cars. Along the way, we will be stopping at the McKee-Besher Wildlife Management Area to look at the sunflower fields. </p>

<p>The parking lot at the sunflower fields can be non-MINI/Mini friendly. I'll be sure to check it the day before to make sure it's ok. If it's not, we will not be stopping there. However, I will provide directions to anyone who would like to go. Also note, you can't get the cars close enough to the flowers to take pictures. </p>
<p> </p>
<p>In case anyone is still hungry or needs an adult beverage, Cuginis has good pizza and a great selection of craft beer (at very good prices!). </p>
