1975_mini
Sorry we missed your initial post. I do not have any experience with serpentine belts on gen2, if it was a gen1 there are penalty of tools and experience. I think most gen2 have it replaced under warranty because a common issue is the valve cover leaking at the rear vacuum line, this leaks oil onto the S-belt and friction wheel requiring both to be replaced. So it doesn't become a DIY job for most. I will look around and see what I can turn up for you. 1975 Mini 1000, 998cc A+ w/ K&N air filter, 10" Mamba wheels
1975_mini
I found this thread on another MINI forum, about ten post down in the thread is step by step instruction with key pictures. Unlike a Gen 1 the Gen 2 does not require a special tool to release the tension. Any pry bar or equivalent will do the job. Does not look like a difficult task, if you have basic mechanic skills.
