She said that she hates taking 81 because of the trucks and if it's an off time she'll take 95 down because it has more lanes and moves better. I looked on Google Maps and the difference is about 9 minutes more taking 95 south through Greensboro vs 81. Has anyone else tried this route? Given we're leaving on Sunday morning I think we're going to try it and hope it's less trucky. minirab Posted April 20, 2011 Report Share Posted April 20, 2011 Because I live in Hagerstown I always take I-81. That being said heavy truck traffic is mostly on a Friday and Sunday nights. I figure we'll arrive around noon since we're going to grocery shop on the way. I hear Asheville has some really good grocery stores, even a Whole Foods. Along with outdoor farmers markets and all kinds of healthy food options.
