The address is 45130 Columbia Plac e\, Sterling\, VA 20166<\;/p>\;\n<\;p>\;<\;strong>\;WHEN:<\; /strong>\; Saturday\, April 9 @ 9:00am. Driver's meeting at 9:50am. We d epart at 10am <\;strong>\;sharp!<\;/strong>\; <\;span style=\"co lor:#FF0000\;\">\;<\;strong>\;Don't be late!<\;/strong>\;<\;/s pan>\;<\;/p>\;\n<\;p>\;<\;strong>\;RUN DISTANCE:<\;/strong >\; <\;strong>\;<\;span style=\"color:#0000FF\;\">\;69.6 miles ( morning) + 68.0 miles (afternoon) = 137.6 miles total.<\;/span>\;<\; /strong>\; Easy \"early exits\" available in afternoon at 88.7 miles (R t 66)\, 105.7 miles (Rt 50) and 123.9 miles (Rt 50).<\;/p>\;\n<\;p&g t\;<\;strong>\;RUN TIME:<\;/strong>\; Approx 6.5 hours - we will r eturn to the Target parking lot at approx. 4:30pm\, if you decide to compl ete the full run.<\;/p>\;\n<\;p>\;<\;strong>\;WHAT TO BRING:&l t\;/strong>\; Full tank of gas\, 2-way radio\, money to buy lunch ( cash please - makes it easier for the check)\, sweater/raincoat/umbrella ( if necessary\, depending on weather) and a fun-loving attitude! :top:<\; /p>\;\n<\;p>\; <\;/p>\;\n<\;p>\;A quick refresher:<\;/p&g t\;\n<\;p>\; <\;/p>\;\n<\;p>\;One of my fondest MINI-related memories is the very first drive I ever participated in with DCMM - i t was the Spring Fling\, created by Bruce Pancoast (<\;a href=\"htt p://www.dcmetrominis.org/forums/member.php?u=68\" rel=\"external nofollow\ ">\;mty_mini<\;/a>\;)\, and organized with help from Jen Oakes (<\ ;a href=\"http://www.dcmetrominis.org/forums/member.php?u=79\" rel=\"exter nal nofollow\">\;Jen<\;/a>\;) - who was our event coordinator at the time. This all happened on Sunday\, April 24\, 2005... only 7 1/2 weeks a fter I picked up my brand new MINI. Alan (<\;a href=\"http://www.dcmetro minis.org/forums/member.php?u=2\" rel=\"external nofollow\">\;Scavenger& lt\;/a>\;)\, who was getting his first exposure to the MINI\, came along as my co-pilot.<\;/p>\;\n<\;p>\; <\;/p>\;\n<\;p>\;Meetin g in the Sterling Wegmans parking lot (near MINI of Sterling)\, it wa s fun to meet a whole bunch of like-minded MINIacs all at once\, for the f irst time. Little did I know just how much fun there was still to come... after grabbing some coffee and/or breakfast snacks from Wegmans.<\;/p&g t\;\n<\;p>\; <\;/p>\;\n<\;p>\;The roads were beautiful and tw isty\, and was such an awesome experience to be in a long line of MIN Is for the very first time. We stopped for lunch at Orlean Market <\;spa n style=\"color:#000000\;\">\;in Upperville\, VA<\;/span>\; (in west ern Fauquier County)\, then continued on for wine tasting at Naked Mountai n Vineyard &\; Winery after that\, before heading all the way back to W egmans.<\;/p>\;\n<\;p>\; <\;/p>\;\n<\;p>\;It was a long d ay (128 miles or so!)\, but <\;strong>\;so<\;/strong>\; nice.
