The address is 45130 Columbia Place\, Sterling\, VA 20166<\;/p>\;\n<\;p>\;<\;strong>\;WHEN: <\;/strong>\; Sunday\, April 19 @ 9:00am. Driver's meeting at 9:50am. We depart at 10am <\;strong>\;sharp!<\;/strong>\; <\;span style =\"color:#FF0000\;\">\;<\;strong>\;Don't be late!<\;/strong>\;&l t\;/span>\;<\;/p>\;\n<\;p>\;<\;strong>\;RUN DISTANCE:<\;/s trong>\; <\;strong>\;<\;span style=\"color:#0000FF\;\">\;68.1 mi les (morning) + 69.3 miles (afternoon) = 137.4 miles total.<\;/span>\; <\;/strong>\; Easy \"early exits\" available in afternoon at 85.7 mil es (Rt 66)\, 94.0 miles (Rt 50)\, 105.8 miles (Rt 7).<\;/p>\;\n<\;p& gt\;<\;strong>\;RUN TIME:<\;/strong>\; Approx 6.5 hours - we will return to the Target parking lot at approx. 4:30pm\, if you decide to comp lete the full run.<\;/p>\;\n<\;p>\;<\;strong>\;WHAT TO BRING:& lt\;/strong>\; Full tank of gas\, 2-way radio\, money to buy lunch (cash please - makes it easier for the check)\, sweater/raincoat/umbre lla (if necessary\, depending on weather) and a fun-loving attitude! :top:<\;/p>\;\n<\;p>\; <\;/p>\;\n<\;p>\;A quick refresher :<\;/p>\;\n<\;p>\; <\;/p>\;\n<\;p>\;One of my fondest MIN I-related memories is the very first drive I ever participated in wit h DCMM - it was the Spring Fling\, created by Bruce Pancoast (<\;a href=\"http://www.dcmetrominis.org/forums/member.php?u=68\" rel=\"external nofollow\">\;mty_mini<\;/a>\;)\, and organized with help from Jen O akes (<\;a href=\"http://www.dcmetrominis.org/forums/member.php?u=79\" r el=\"external nofollow\">\;Jen<\;/a>\;) (who was our event coord inator at the time). This all happened on Sunday\, April 24\, 2005... only 7 1/2 weeks after I picked up my brand new MINI. Alan (<\;a h ref=\"http://www.dcmetrominis.org/forums/member.php?u=2\" rel=\"external n ofollow\">\;Scavenger<\;/a>\;)\, who was getting his first exposure to the MINI\, came along as my co-pilot.<\;/p>\;\n<\;p>\; <\; /p>\;\n<\;p>\;Meeting in the Sterling Wegmans parking lot (near MINI of Sterling)\, it was fun to meet a whole bunch of like-minded MINIa cs all at once\, for the first time. Little did I know just how much fun there was still to come... after grabbing some coffee and/or brea kfast snacks from Wegmans.<\;/p>\;\n<\;p>\; <\;/p>\;\n<\ ;p>\;The roads were beautiful and twisty\, and was such an awesome exper ience to be in a long line of MINIs for the very first time. We stopp ed for lunch at Orlean Market <\;span style=\"color:#000000\;\">\ ;in Upperville\, VA<\;/span>\; (in western Fauquier County)\, the n continued on for wine tasting at Naked Mountain Vineyard &\; Win ery after that\, before heading all the way back to Wegmans.<\;/p&g t\;\n<\;p>\; <\;/p>\;\n<\;p>\;It was a long day (128 miles or so!)\, but <\;strong>\;so<\;/strong>\; nice. Needless to say\, I was eager to do this run again.<\;/p>\;\n<\;p>\; <\;/p>\;\n& lt\;p>\;Our lunch stop will be again be at <\;a href=\"http://www.grif fintavern.com/\" rel=\"external nofollow\">\;Griffin Tavern<\;/a>\;\ , since Orlean Market closed down many years ago.
