We depart at 10 am <\;strong>\;sharp!<\;/strong>\;<\;/p>\;\n<\;p>\;<\;st rong>\;WHAT TO BRING:<\;/strong>\; Full tank of gas\, 2-way radio\, money to buy lunch (cash please - makes it easier for the check)\, sweater /raincoat/umbrella (if necessary\, depending on weather) and a fun-loving attitude! :top:<\;/p>\;\n<\;p>\; <\;/p>\;\n<\;p>\;A quick refresher:<\;/p>\;\n<\;p>\; <\;/p>\;\n<\;p>\;One of my f ondest MINI-related memories is the very first drive I ever participated i n with DCMM - it was the Spring Fling\, created by Bruce Pancoast (<\;a href=\"http://www.dcmetrominis.org/forums/member.php?u=68\" rel=\"external nofollow\">\;mty_mini<\;/a>\;)\, and organized with help from Jen O akes (<\;a href=\"http://www.dcmetrominis.org/forums/member.php?u=79\" r el=\"external nofollow\">\;Jen<\;/a>\;) (who was our event coordinat or at the time). This all happened on Sunday\, April 24\, 2005... only 6 o r 7 weeks after I picked up my brand new MINI. Alan (<\;a href=\"http:// www.dcmetrominis.org/forums/member.php?u=2\" rel=\"external nofollow\">\ ;Scavenger<\;/a>\;)\, who was getting his first exposure to the MINI\, came along as my co-pilot.<\;/p>\;\n<\;p>\; <\;/p>\;\n<\;p >\;Meeting in the Sterling Wegmans parking lot (near MINI of Sterling)\, it was fun to meet a whole bunch of like-minded MINIacs all at once\, for the first time. Little did I know just how much fun there was still to co me... after grabbing some coffee and/or breakfast snacks from Wegmans.<\ ;/p>\;\n<\;p>\; <\;/p>\;\n<\;p>\;The roads were beautiful a nd twisty\, and was such an awesome experience to be in a long line of MIN Is for the very first time. We stopped for lunch at Orlean Market <\;spa n style=\"color:#000000\;\">\;in Upperville\, VA<\;/span>\; (in west ern Fauquier County)\, then continued on for wine tasting at Naked Mountai n Vineyard &\; Winery after that\, before heading all the way back to W egmans.<\;/p>\;\n<\;p>\; <\;/p>\;\n<\;p>\;It was a long d ay (128 miles or so!)\, but <\;strong>\;so<\;/strong>\; nice. Need less to say\, I was eager to do this run again.<\;/p>\;\n<\;p>\;  <\;/p>\;\n<\;p>\;After much discussion and by popular demand\, we did it again last year... <\;strong>\;twice!<\;/strong>\; Once on Sunday\, April 6 and again on Sunday\, April 20.
